Location: Commerce City, Colorado
Schedule: Year-Round, In-Person/On Site
Salary Range: $55,000–$75,000 annually
Start Date: Immediate or upon availability
Position Overview
Community Leadership Academy is seeking a skilled and mission-driven Human Resources and Talent Manager to support and strengthen our two-campus public charter school network. With approximately 100 employees, this position plays a key role in recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, benefits coordination, and fostering a healthy, inclusive workplace culture. Key Responsibilities
Talent Acquisition & Hiring
Manage recruitment and hiring processes, including job postings, candidate outreach, interviews, and offer letters
Collaborate with school leaders to ensure timely staffing aligned to school needs and values
Maintain accurate job descriptions and oversee applicant tracking processes
Build and maintain recruitment pipelines through partnerships with colleges, universities, and educator preparation programs
Represent the school at job fairs, college recruitment events, and educator expos to elevate our visibility and attract top talent
Employee Onboarding & Engagement
Lead new hire onboarding and orientation to build strong starts for all staff
Coordinate background checks, documentation, and compliance steps for new employees
Foster a positive, inclusive culture through staff events, communications, and engagement efforts
Collaborate with supervisors to ensure new hires are matched with the support, feedback, and mentorship they need to thrive in their first year
Employee Support & Relations
Act as the main point of contact for employee concerns, questions, and HR-related needs
Guide staff through school policies and practices with clarity and professionalism
Promote conflict resolution, morale, and collaborative problem-solving when issues arise
Build trust and meaningful relationships with employees across roles to better understand their needs, identify challenges early, and promote a strong sense of belonging
Partner with leadership to normalize and elevate support expectations in the workplace—such as wellness check-ins, professional goal-setting, and clearer communication channels
Benefits Coordination & Compliance
Coordinate employee benefits enrollment and serve as liaison with benefit providers
Track and monitor leave usage (PTO, FMLA, etc.) and support workers' comp processes
Maintain accurate and secure employee records and support audits or reporting as needed
Ensure compliance with relevant employment laws and charter school regulations
HR Operations & Systems
Keep HR forms, protocols, and employee handbooks updated and well-organized
Use platforms such as Paycom to manage employee records and support related systems
Recommend process improvements that enhance efficiency and support school goals

Qualifications
Minimum 3 years of experience in a human resources, talent, or office management role
Associate's degree or equivalent work experience
Strong computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, and HR-related platforms)
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Experience supporting diverse teams and managing confidential information with care
Experience in a school or nonprofit setting is a plus, but not required
