Senior Resilience Planner (Finance)

Role description:

Arcadis is seeking a Senior Resilience Planner to join our Water Management Practice in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania!

With the support of one of the industry's leading technical and professional staffs, this new team member will support a growing base of projects throughout the region with private, federal, state, and local government clients related to risk assessment, climate adaptation, resilience planning, policy, project development, feasibility studies, engineering design, as well as project funding and implementation. This role offers an excellent opportunity to learn and grow professionally while working on a wide variety of projects alongside a dedicated and experienced staff. Role accountabilities:

As a Senior Resilience Planner, you will lead and support projects for an existing and expanding client base seeking services for climate adaptation, hazard mitigation planning, planning implementation and funding support, grants management and federal compliance, stormwater management and green infrastructure, benefit cost analysis, lead service line replacement, environmental and social impact analysis, public outreach, and other resilience needs.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to collaborate with integrated multi-disciplinary teams consisting of planners, engineers, scientists, designers, and other professionals. You will manage projects and tasks focused on climate adaptation and resilience leading grants and funding applications in collaboration with clients and team members. Effective communication is key as you will convey complex ideas to diverse audiences, including clients. You will work on a variety of projects simultaneously assisting in the identification and description of cost-effective, technically feasible, and environmentally sound resilience actions.

Your participation in client and project development will include assisting with proposals and marketing materials as needed. Additionally, you will identify and support business development opportunities engaging with new and existing clients to foster local growth. Mentoring and being mentored, both vertically and horizontally, will be part of your role to ensure shared knowledge and growth across the team. You will also support team processes, development, and thought leadership. Some travel may be required for project site visits, client meetings, and conferences.

Key Skills and Attributes

The ideal candidate will have strong experience and proficiency in MS Office software along with excellent written and verbal communication skills including technical writing. They should possess strong critical thinking abilities and demonstrate familiarity with GIS software such as ESRI or QGIS to support project needs effectively.

Qualifications & Experience:

Required Qualifications

  • 10 years of relevant experience.
  • Masters Degree in Urban Planning, Geography, Environmental Management, or related field.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working in the Philadelphia region.
  • Experience working in the urban planning, urban resilience/ climate adaptation, coastal restoration or flood risk resilience fields.
  • Interest working with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Interest and willingness to learn and grow within a team environment.
  • Interest in supporting urban and coastal climate adaptation initiatives.

Arcadis offers benefits for full time and part time positions. We offer nine paid holidays and 20 days PTO that accrue per year. The salary range for this position is $136,000 - $173,000. Actual salaries will vary and are based on several factors, such as experience, education, budget, internal equity, project and location.
