Corporate Engineer (Project Management)
Corporate Engineer
Leads development and implementation of strategic and critical business related projects and initiatives in field locations including branches, depots, and stockrooms. Collaborates with the Regional Manager, Safety & Production Specialist and the branch management teams to drive mechanical and operational improvements. Project responsibilities include safety, environmental, maintenance oversight & guidance, process improvement, productivity, capacity, and facilities management. Typical facility oversight includes but is not limited to start-up and shutdown procedures, electrical troubleshooting, maintaining and operating boilers, welding and cutting, hydraulics, pneumatics, mechanical, or other systems are completed according to policies and procedures.
Essential Job Functions:
Influences and gains alignment with regional leaders and site management leaders to develop scope, cost and schedule. Owns, manages and communicates projects to key metrics.
Accountable for successful delivery of department OKR's (Objectives & Key Results) to drive improvement within the Corporate Engineer's assigned Region.
Assesses and creates action plans within the day-to-day provisions of all specialized engineering support services including safety, environmental, facility, industrial, power plant, repairs and maintenance, wastewater treatment, and utilities.
Utilizes judgment to make recommendations to the North American Engineering & Maintenance Team Leader for production and/or process improvements.
Guides teams with location staff and Regional Engineering peers and the Team Leader to resolve technical issues related to plant operations as necessary.
Identifies critical needs and improvement opportunities, creates business case, and pursues project opportunities through ideation, approval, implementation and start-up.
Provides environmental oversight, guidance and recommendations to the Regional Manager and branch management teams to ensure environmental stewardship and regulatory compliance.
Promotes safety within branch visits, observations, project scope(s), and maintenance activities. Partners with the Regional Safety & Production Specialist to improve safe operating behaviors and overall safety performance.
Implements rigor in all phases of project management with effective end game results that include system performance, operating procedures, maintenance requirements and training.
Additional Job Duties:
Guides and collaborates with branch management teams and provides feedback and reports on operational opportunities.
Acts as a mentor and partner to location maintenance teams.
Provides timely, concise and improvement-driven site visit reports that serve as a basis for continuous improvement.
Ensures every maintenance team is properly trained on new and/or existing processes by providing technical engineering and maintenance training to location Production Managers and maintenance staff.
Assists location management, the Regional Manager, the North American Engineering & Maintenance Team Leader, and the Director of Operations Support to develop strategic capital improvement plans
Minimum Qualifications:
3-5 years minimum engineering experience in manufacturing and/or industrial operation(s) focused on process improvement and project management.
Education Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Chemical Engineering preferred.

Specialized Knowledge, Licenses, etc:
AutoCad experience preferred
PLC programming knowledge preferred
Industrial wastewater experience a plus
Lean Manufacturing practice and/or certification a plus
Working Conditions:
Extended hours within an industrial environment (dust, noise, multiple moving mechanical components)
50% to 75% travel
