POSITION SUMMARY:

The Service Navigator serves as a service coordinator to participants in the SNAP JETS and Direct Care Worker Initiatives (programming). The Service Navigator assesses candidates and connects them to the appropriate employment and training programs. This position coordinates services with other Goodwill programs and community partners. This role is expected to provide advocacy, full scope case planning, job coaching, support services, resources, and program referrals that work toward the participant's goal of sustainable employment.

Duties will also include but are not limited to:

  • Maintain up to date, thorough knowledge of community services and resources to identify appropriate service opportunities for the varying needs of participants.
  • Consult Client Services to assist with service inquiries and provide updated knowledge regarding available services.
  • Maintain up-to-date, thorough knowledge of the agency's employment and training programs to refer appropriately based on one's needs, interests, and eligibility. When appropriate, assist participants in filling out applications or questionnaires for enrollment into services.
  • Provide continued assessment of needs and goals to help participant remediate barriers and provide supportive services in all phases of programming.
  • Establish and maintain ongoing communication with participants, both in person and remotely, to continuously assess needs and goals, remediate barriers, and provide supportive services throughout all phases of programming.
  • Facilitate support activities within contracted facilities and in the community presenting best practices and focusing on retention seeking efforts. Monitor attendance and promote involvement.
  • Be aware of and follow guidelines for all applicable regulatory entities such as Department of Public welfare, Department of Labor, and PA Department of Education.

External Hiring Range: $20.75-$20.878

Schedule: 8am - 4pm Monday - Friday some evenings and weekends required. 

Travel: local travel will be required

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent AND 6 years of experience required. OR
  • Associate's degree AND 4 years of experience required. OR
  • Bachelor's degree AND 2 years of experience required.

Required Experience:

Experience with case management, locating community and social services for at-risk or vulnerable adult populations, required. 

Database experience, required.

REQUIRED CLEARANCES, LICENSES, AND CERTIFICATIONS:

  • Candidates are expected to provide current, valid clearances (Child Abuse Clearance, FBI Fingerprints Clearance, and PATCH).
