Electric Distribution Maintenance and Construction Planner (Finance)
Electric Distribution (ED) Maintenance and Construction Planner Reports to: Electric Distribution Engineering Supervisor Job Summary: This position is responsible for planning, scheduling, coordinating and documenting the construction and maintenance related functions of the Electric Distribution Department. Essential Duties Perform short term (daily) and long term (monthly) planning and scheduling of electrical maintenance and construction personnel and conduct necessary planning meetings. Work with vendors, contractors and internal procurement specialists to obtain parts and services required for construction projects, outages and daily operations. Routinely solicit feedback from Electric Distribution personnel to verify schedule compliance and adjust schedule as necessary to reflect actual project status. Use enterprise asset management (EAM) and/or scheduling software to develop and maintain routine scheduled maintenance and new line construction activities for Electric Distribution assets. Schedule, plan and coordinate capital improvement projects, and line extensions working closely with Electric Engineering, Line Crew, Operations & Maintenance, and Warehouse personnel. Schedule, plan and coordinate outages, ensuring customers, dispatcher and customer service staff are informed of scheduled and unscheduled outages. Schedule and monitor work performed by outside contractors. Construct, maintain and improve upon a knowledge management system for Electric Distribution maintenance records including drawings, correspondence and asset information. Act as the Electric Distribution EAM specialist and train others to use EAM. Perform all other duties as assigned. Essential Qualifications Associates degree in a technical field. Two years of experience in electrical or mechanical maintenance or construction. Ability to read and understand highway/road prints, blue prints and electrical diagrams along with an ability to identify and scope the drawing per trade, crew, or contractor. Interpersonal skills necessary to work productively with all levels of the organization. Comprehensive knowledge of database, spreadsheet, word processing and computer programs using Microsoft software. Skills necessary to effectively manage the daily operations and administration of assigned functions. Verbal and written ability to define clear instructions related to work job plans, parts ordering and equipment processes. Valid Michigan Drivers License. Preferred Qualifications Bachelors degree in a technical field. Previous experience with a CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) such as EAM, SAP, Maximo or similar. Previous experience with a scheduling software such as Primavera, MS Project or other. Knowledge of safe methods, practices and procedures in the operation and maintenance of equipment in an electric distribution system. Michigan licensed Journeyman, Master Electrician, Journey Line Worker certification or certification in project management. Effective workplace skills as demonstrated through WorkKeys assessments (Workplace Documents 5, Applied Math 5, Graphic Literacy 5). Physical Requirements & Working Conditions Inside and outside work with potential exposure to extreme hot or cold weather conditions. Work in close proximity to environmental hazards associated with high voltage electrical and electric distribution equipment.
