Design Engineer I (Finance)

We are currently seeking a well-qualified candidate for the position of Design Engineer - Level I, located in Endicott, NY. The Design Engineer I will be responsible for updating drawings, revising plans, ECNs, and release supports. The ideal candidate will be interested in continuing education and improvement to advance through the engineering levels into busbar or cable assembly design and development. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Design and Development: Revise and update detailed designs, blueprints, and technical drawings using CAD software. Research appropriate materials and manufacturing processes. Work with senior engineers to assist the development phase of new design projects. Analysis and Testing: Under the guidance of senior engineers, perform analysis and simulations to evaluate design performance and identify potential issues. Help perform testing on prototypes and finished products to ensure they meet safety, performance, and quality standards. Analyze data from tests to identify areas for improvement. Collaboration and Communication: Perform routine calculations, prepare reports and documentation for projects. Understand, follow, and assist senior level engineers and quality assurance in design and development. Problem Solving: Help identify and resolve design problems and issues, documenting revisions. Industry Standards and Regulations: Ensure designs comply with relevant industry standards and regulations. Stay up-to-date on the latest technologies and trends in the field. Work Flexibility: Ability to manage multiple projects at once. Understand and follow all applicable company practices, policies, and procedures. Conduct all work compliant with safety rules and regulations. Perform other work duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS BS Degree in Engineering or related discipline. Experience with modeling tools (CAD, Pro E, or Solidworks) and Microsoft Office products. Familiarity with wire/harness assemblies preferred. Working knowledge and application of principles and techniques commonly employed in the design and manufacture interconnect products such as metal fabrication, die cast, stamped and formed, and plastic injection molded components. Working knowledge of how the designed solutions may be used and help in developing the qualification tests and reliability parameters. Possessing a good understanding of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing. Travel may be required, both domestic and international. SKILLS Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Knowledge of relevant software and tools. Results-driven mindset. Ability to effectively communicate across multiple teams. Solid presentation, interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to multi-task. Possess strong diplomacy and problem solving skills. Must be able to work with a high degree of accuracy under pressure and with frequent interruptions. Proficient in MS Office Suite and experience with CAD modeling tools (SolidWorks preferred). PHYSICAL DEMANDS (with or without reasonable accommodations): Prolonged sitting or standing. Visual acuity. Must be able to distinguish imperfections in material or product. Must be able to distinguish full range of colors. Potential to lift or transport light to heavy items (up to 50 lbs). Ability to adapt to change.
