Operator, Tapping Deflection - 1st Shift (Finance)

Job Details
  • Position Type: Full-Time (Non-Exempt)
  • Pay Range: $18-19 per hour
  • Work Location: Mundelein, Illinois (On-Site)
  • Shift: 1st (6:00 AM - 4:00 PM)
Key Responsibilities
  • Operate tapping and deflection machines according to safety and quality standards.
  • Inspect parts visually and with gauges to ensure conformance to specifications.
  • Load/unload parts onto machinery using appropriate tools and fixtures.
  • Perform machine adjustments and basic preventative maintenance as required.
  • Record production and inspection data accurately.
  • Work collaboratively with Quality and Maintenance teams to resolve production issues.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workstation.
  • Adhere to all safety guidelines, policies, and procedures.
Skills/Competencies
  • Strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Ability to read and interpret basic blueprints or technical drawings.
  • Familiarity with using calipers, micrometers, and thread gauges.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Basic troubleshooting skills for machine operation.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Team-oriented mindset with a strong work ethic.
Qualifications (Required)
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Prior experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and stand for extended periods.
  • Basic math and measurement skills.
  • Willingness to work assigned shift and overtime as needed.
Qualifications (Preferred)
  • Experience operating tapping or deflection equipment.
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing or 5S principles.
  • Prior experience in the automotive or metalworking industry.
